Jim Buckel

Jim Buckel was born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada in 1968 and has lived most of his life in the Toronto area, currently residing just outside Toronto in Milton, Ontario.

Jim's parents are both avid photographers. Jim started photographing warbirds and vintage aircraft in the late 70's and has amassed a large collection of 35 mm and digital photos. He started volunteerng at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in 1985 and is a member of the Lancaster crew.

Jim graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently a Professional Engineer with Arctic Combustion Ltd.

Jim attends airshows in Canada and the US and has had his photos featured in Classic Wings, Warbird Digest, Air Classics/Warbirds International, Flypast and Aircraft Illustrated. He is also currently a member of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Warbirds of America, EAA and Planes of Fame and a founder of the Warbird Depot website along with Mark Watt and Doug Fisher.
